Lotus seeds: Small Blushing Blue

Five seeds of the smallest sacred lotus from our Raglan flower farm.

Tiny blushing blue blooms. This aquatic bowl plant grows flowers approximately 10cm in size, with the plant reaching a height of 20–30cm. In lotus breeding, “blue” refers to subtle cool or lavender undertones rather than a true blue pigment.

Growing notes
The seeds come with clear growing instructions, have a high germination rate and can be planted any time of the year. Lotuses are happiest in the warmest, most wind-sheltered spot on your deck, garden or a sunny spot in your house. Ensure you keep the water temperature above 16°C, otherwise, the plant will go dormant and only wake up again when temperatures rise.

Please note: Sacred lotus grown from seed can show natural variation in flower color; “blue” tones in Nelumbo nucifera are often subtle and are not guaranteed in first or subsequent blooms.
